I wanted to try a salad with a creamy yogurt dressing for long time. When I went for vacation, I loved the sour cream dip with pepper. I used to have cucumber with it along with hummus, pita bread. I liked the cucumber which was having less water content than the one we get here. It had a pleasant flavour that I used to have as a kid. After coming here, I wanted the same one, so for a change tried the Japanese cucumber and it was similar to what we had there. Hereafter only these Japanese cucumber for a while. I used this cucumber for the salad and totally loved it. Simple and fewest ingredients that we have in our pantry for this salad. I loved this to have this summer too. Check out my aloo chana chaat.

Sour cream - 2 tbsp
Plain yogurt - 2 tbsp
Cucumber, chopped - 1/2 cup
Onion, chopped - 1/2 cup
Black pepper, crushed - 1/2 tsp
Coriander leaves chopped - 2 tbsp
Lemon juice - 1 tsp

Chana/ chickpea, cooked - 1 cupSour cream - 2 tbsp
Plain yogurt - 2 tbsp
Cucumber, chopped - 1/2 cup
Onion, chopped - 1/2 cup
Black pepper, crushed - 1/2 tsp
Coriander leaves chopped - 2 tbsp
Lemon juice - 1 tsp
Method:
- Place thick yogurt, sour cream, pepper, lemon juice and salt in a bowl. Mix well smooth.
- Add cooked chana, chopped onion, cucumber and mix well.
Notes
- Cut cucumber and onion same size as the chana.
- Serve as soon as you mix.
- Use greek yogurt or thick hung curd for rich taste.
How to make chana salad:
- Place thick yogurt, sour cream, pepper, lemon juice and salt in a bowl. Mix well smooth.
- Add cooked chana, chopped onion, cucumber and mix well.
